Island Hopping in Dubrovnik: the Ideal Sailing Itinerary for unique experience Are you looking for the perfect way to spend a one-week vacation diving on the islands of Croatia? If so, this cruise around the Radama archipelago is perfect for you. The Radama archipelago is a group of four islands located off the coast of Madagascar - Nosy Kalakajoro, Nosy Ovy, Nosy Antany Mora and Nosy Valiha. The archipelago is known for its amazing tropical vegetation, beautiful beaches and rich marine life. There are a few fishing villages on the islands which are worth a visit for their hospitable locals and unique way of life. Most of the island's dive sites are concentrated in the Mozambique Channel, which is about 30 minutes from the islands. These sites offer spectacular views of underwater caves, gorgons, crevasses and drop-offs with depths ranging from 12 to 50 metres. Visitors can often spot schools of tuna, barracudas, jacks, white tip sharks, hammerhead sharks and giant lochs while diving in the channel. Thereââ¬â¢s also a shallower dive site called Greg Wall thatââ¬â¢s popular among divers. The Radama archipelago is a great place for those who love nature and adventure. Day 1
Get ready for an exciting sailing adventure as we board at 1pm for an exciting 5.5-hour journey to the Radama archipelago. Once there, weââ¬â¢ll anchor for the night at Nosy Iranja. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the local area and experience the wonderful culture and hospitality of the people.
Day 2
After breakfast, we gear up for the first dive on the west wall of Nosy Iranja. The water can be crystal clear and the corals are incredibly vibrant. You can see a variety of colourful fish swimming around and even spot turtles swimming by. Then we head to the southwest wall of Nosy Iranja or Tombant Black for the second dive. This wall is covered in black coral, which is beautiful but also a little eerie. Swim through schools of fish and end up back at the boat just in time for lunch. After lunch and 3 hours of navigation, we set sail for Antanimora. Along the way, we can spot dolphins swimming alongside the boat. We arrive in Antanimora later in the afternoon and disembark to explore the fishing village. The villagers are friendly and welcoming, and we even get to try some of their fresh seafood. We spent the night anchored off the coast of Antanimora, watching the stars come out one by one. Tomorrow is another early start so we can make the most fun of our time here!
Day 3
This morning, you get to wake up with a sunrise view as we depart early for Greg Wall to dive. For the third dive of the day, weââ¬â¢ll head to Hurricane Bank. This is a popular spot for divers, as itââ¬â¢s home to a diversity of marine life. The bank is also well-known for its strong currents, so be careful not to get swept away. After Hurricane Bank, make your way to the nursery. This is a sheltered area where young fish and coral are able to grow and thrive. There are some beautiful corals and colourful fish here that makes the dive worth anticipating. It's a peaceful spot thatââ¬â¢ll leave you unforgettable memories. Headed back to Kalakajoro for a swim to relax and a visit to the fishing village. The villagers are very friendly. Here we'll be moored up for the night, so there's no need to hurry. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
Day 4
This morning, gear up for another great day of diving in the west wall of Kalakajoro. This is definitely a dive site not to be missed with its abundant sea life. Afterwards, we'll have our sixth dive at the Napoleon site before heading towards Baramahamay. We should arrive there in the afternoon and have some time to explore the village and its school. We'll spend the night moored at the boat, preparing for another thrilling day of adventure tomorrow.
Day 5
As the sun rises, you can't help but feel a sense of excitement, because departing at dawn, weââ¬â¢ll embark on our seventh dive of the trip at Rocks to Gabriel. Afterwards, weââ¬â¢ll head for Nosy Iranja, with a possible stopover to enjoy some swimming and explore the village and lighthouse. Following that, weââ¬â¢ll continue on to our eighth dive of the trip on the Maratony bench. Finally, weââ¬â¢ll make our way to Ankazoberavina island where we can do a night dive before returning to the shelters in Russian Bay, where weââ¬â¢ll anchor for the night.
Day 6
As if the adventure isnââ¬â¢t enough, today we'll be cruising and diving to some of the most amazing spots in the area. The early departure will be worth it when we see the magnificent ninth dive and the beautiful Nosy Tanikely reserve. After lunch, we'll finally disembark from this fun-filled trip around 3 pm.
