Day 1
Day one of your Turkish sailing adventure begins in Göcek, a small fishing village with a rich history. Located in the national park, itââ¬â¢s home to the Kalimce ruins. Take time to explore ashore and see the sights. The forested national park is a great place to start. After boarding the boat and getting ready to set sail, head eight nautical miles to Kapi Creek in Gobun Koyu. This scenic cove is sheltered by trees and is known for its cobalt and azure waters.
Day 2
Today weââ¬â¢ll set sail bright and early for a 29-nautical mile journey up the coast to Ekincik, a beautiful sheltered inlet flanked by a beach, pine forests and caves. Once you've arrived, take the local motorboat ride up the Dalyan River to the UNESCO ancient city of Kaunos. You'll be absolutely amazed by the six tombs of the kings cut into the sheer rock face. Afterwards, meander through the nearby mud baths, known for their mystical healing powers, before heading back to the boat for a well-earned rest.
Day 3
On the third day of the excursion, weââ¬â¢ll sail head up 34 nautical miles to Gemiler Island. The island is more commonly known as St. Nicholas Island and is believed to be where the tomb of St. Nicholas, or Father Christmas, was originally located Those whoââ¬â¢re looking to explore the ruins of five different churches that were built between the 4th and 6th centuries can do so by climbing the extremely steep hill located on the island. At the top of the hill, there are stunning views that are made even better by the ruined arches that provide natural frames for the electric blue seas and sparkling sunlight.
Day 4
The fourth day of our sailing trip takes us to Kizikuyruk Koyu, a beautiful cove on the Kapñdaß peninsula. This is a deep anchorage with clear water, making it perfect for snorkelling. We'll spend the day exploring the cove and enjoying the view. Then, in the evening, we'll anchor for the night and enjoy a peaceful night's sleep under the stars.
Day 5
After sailing 15nm to Fethiye, weââ¬â¢ll arrive at a small city located in southwestern Turkey. Itââ¬â¢s situated in the picturesque mountains and has a harbour thatââ¬â¢s perfect for exploring the surrounding coastline. The city is home to many archaeological treasures, including the Amyntas rock tombs, which are just a 20-minute walk from the harbour. If you have more time to explore, the nearby city of Pinara is an hour away by taxi and features a well-preserved settlement with tombs cut into high rocks.
Day 6
Today weââ¬â¢ll sail another 15nm for an opportunity to snorkel in some of Turkey's best waters at Wall Bay. A family-run restaurant called Adaia is nearby, and can only be accessed by boat - making it a perfect place to enjoy lunch with a view. Afterwards, spend some time swimming at the beach or exploring ancient ruins in Cleopatra's Bay (also known as Ruin Bay) by kayak.
Day 7
Today is our final full day on the boat, and we're going to make the most of it. We'll head back to Göcek, where we started our journey and disembark. Catch up on the sights you missed out on the first day to fully explore this small town and all it has to offer. Trace Göcek's past underwater and see the Kalimce ruins for yourself.
